SN65DSI86: DSI86 DDC communication fail

Team,

One of my customer is using DSI86 to connect some monitor, as the display is normal, and the EDID is readable, but they found they can not send the brightness command to tune the brightness of the monitor.

And the log is showing DDC communication failed. So they are asking, do we have any recommendation on our deice for sending DDC command, anything need to be configured? Or any timming need to be followed?

    Hi,

    DSI86 does not support DDC communication, it only supports communication over AUX.

    Does the monitor support the use of DPCD Addresses 00700h through 007FFh for brightness control? Can they read the DPCD_DISPLAY_CONTROL_CAPABLE bit in the eDP_CONFIGURATION_CAP register (DPCD Address 0000Dh, bit 3) to verify this capability?
