TPS65987DDJ: TPS65987D GPIO event question

Part Number: TPS65987DDJ
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987

Hi all,

My customer use TPS65987 in NB application. We have questions in some GPIO events:

1. Port 0 FaultZ Output Event: It can be triggered in OCP condition. But can we clear this event and let the gpio pin to low? By 4CC command or?

2. Ice Lake Prevent High Current Contract Active Event: We always get  3A (5V) soruce protection no matter this GPIO is high or low. How to change source PDO to 5V 0.9A? Use this GPIO event or we have to build up a virtual device to change source PDO setting?

Gary Teng

     Any comment?

  • Hi Gary,

Could you please have your FAE redirect this question and others regarding the DDJ variant of the device through direct email with us?

For your questions though, yes if you take a look at the Technical Reference Manual for the device, you will see a 4CC Command to set the GPIO low, I believe it should be 'GPsl'.

For the Prevent High Current Contract Event, this particular event is only triggered high when there is a negotiated contract that is atleast 5V/0.9A. By default you will have the 5V/3A source, if you would like to only support 5V/0.9A then yes you can change your source PDO setting. If you would like to configure different PDOs that change from a GPIO status then you would use the App Config to have the virtual devices set up.

    Thank you,

    Hari
