Hi Team,

Good day,

We received inquiry from customer looking for  a Serial Parallel USB IC That Converts Serial Video of a Camera Module such as OV5640 to a USB utput (2.0 or 3.0) which is usable on linux systems. The Standard is called MIPI CS, essentially its an MIPI CSI to USB IC.

Do you have such an DSP IC?

Thank you and looking forward for your kind response.

Maynard

Unfortunately we do not have a single chip CSI to USB solution available.

    Thanks

  • HI David,

    Thank you for your response.

I understand that we don't have single chip solution. Can we have other solution for this even without using single chip? The customer is ok for them even it is not single chip. They want to know if we can provide them a solution for this

Thank you and looking forward for your kind response.

    Regards,

You could use a FPGA to convert from CSI to DisplayPort(DP), HDMI or other formats. If you are looking at sending the DP/HDMI video data over USB Type-C, then you could consider the TUSB1146 as the DP over Type-C Alt Mode solution.

If you are considering send the video data as part of the USB traffic, then you need a USB host controller inside the FPGA that can packetize the video data into USB packet format. You would also need an external USB PHY (TUSB1310) connected to the FPGA.

    Thanks
