Dear Specialists,
My customer is considering SN75ALS171 and SN75ALS171A.
They have a question about bypass cap recommended value.
Could you please let us know.
It seems that 0.1uF is often used for RS485 transceivers.
Is it possible to think that this device is the same?
I appreciate your great help in advance.
Best regards,
Shinichi
Hi Shinichi,
Yes, 0.1uF is a good value for a "bypass" or "decoupling" capacitor for these devices. This will help filter out higher frequencies that may be present at the power input pin and keep the local supply stable.

Eric Schott
Hi Eric,
Thank you for your reply.
I also agree your suggestion.
I'll share this information with the customer.
I appreciate your great help and cooperation.
Best regards,
Shinichi
