AM26LV32E: phenomenon during power off

Part Number: AM26LV32E

Hello Experts,

I would like to reconfirm a question of below thread.
https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/t/933450

The AM26LV32EIPW will accepts the input signals with no abnormal behavior even if the device power is not present. (The datasheet stated Absolute Maximum Ratings at input pins (A&B) is +/-14V). Is my understanding correct?

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  • Fujiwara-san,

I want to make sure I understand your question. To be clear, the device requires power to properly operate as a receiver - specifically a supply voltage VCC between 3 V and 3.6 V.

The question you referenced was a discussion regarding the leakage currents experienced when the device is not powered. The high impedance of the device should limit backflow current while unpowered, if that is the concern.

The ±14 V characteristic indicates that the device will not be damaged when the inputs A/B are within this range, even when VCC = 0.

Do I understand your question properly?

    Best,

    Danny
