DS90UB960-Q1: DS90UB960 basic question

Part Number: DS90UB960-Q1

Hi team,

some question need your help:
1. What resolution can this deserializer support? According to the instructions in the document, it can support up to 1080p@60HZ? But according to csi-2, the data rate per channel is up to 1.6Gpbs, YUV422 output, 1080p60fps is not supported, please help confirm 2. Is it compatible with ti913/ti933 serializer? 3. To support 1080p60fps, which serializer chip is used? Which camera manufacturer TI cooperate with can achieve this resolution
  • Hello Dane,

     1) It is difficult to specify maximum resolution because this can vary with multiple factors, such as blanking, data type, frame rate ... etc.

Each RX Port can support a maximum CSI-2 throughput of 3.328Gbps.

     2) Yes, it is compatible with the UB913A or UB933.

     3) You can use the UB935 or the UB953. But this also depends on other factors. See Answer #1.

  • Hi ,

    Thanks for reply.

as you said the RX port support maximum CSI-2 throughput of 3.328Gbps but in datasheet the CSI-2 only states the 1.6Gbps. So what's the relationship between the 3.328G and 1.6G?

  • Hello Dane,

The actual maximum per lane speed for 953 when paired 960 and 26MHz REFCLK is 832Mbps/lane. For 4 lanes this is 832*4 = 3.328Gbps.

The 1.6Gbps is related to the output side on the 960, not the input side from the 953

    Best Regards,

    Casey
