DP83867E: polarity swap

Team, 

My customer has the following question: 

We are using the DP83867E 10/100/1000 Enet PHY on one of our boards. During debug it was discovered that the positive and negative pins have been swapped when connecting to the RJ connector. (see below red pin numbering).

Should the part be able to automatically detect this wiring error? We have not been able to get Link established with this wiring connection.

    Hi Aaron,

    The part is not able to automatically detect this wiring error. However, manually setting the device to Mirror Mode should fix the issue. Refer to section 8.4.6.6 of the datasheet on how to enable mirror mode.
