DP83869HM: Power Consumption

Part Number: DP83869HM

Hello, I am doing a design using two DP83869HM Ethernet PHYs. I intend to use one for an RJ-45 connections and one for a SFP+ connection. I am looking for the power consumption of the device. I would like to power the devices using the same power supplies.

Can anyone give me some guidance please.

Hello Joe,

You may refer to the power consumption numbers for differnet modes of operation in Electrical Characteristics Table of the datasheet.

Hello, thank you for responding to my post. I saw those numbers you mentioned but which rails do they correlate to? RGMII-1000Base-X is about 142mW. Is that from the VDD1P1, VDDA1P8 or VDDA2P5?

Hello Joe,

Here is the individual current consumption that I could find :

Rgmii to Rj 45 :

1V1 supply : current = 130mA

2V5 supply : current = 86mA

1V8 supply : current = 52mA

vddio(3.3V) : current = 30mA

vddio(1.8V) : current = 17mA

Rgmii to SFP :

1V1 supply : max current = 52mA

2V5 supply : max current = 11mA

1V8 supply : max current =14mA

vddio(3.3V) : max current = 32mA

vddio(1.8V) : max current = 18mA
