DS90UB954-Q1: What is the affects when changing the REFCLK of DS90UB954?

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi Dears,

We use DS90UB954/953 to design a vision system like this, see attached picture. Main board has a 954 and a 953, while Logger board has a 954 to accept data from Main board.

The refclk of 954 and 953 on main board are both 25MHz, see tag 1 and tag 2. When the  refclk for logger board is 25MHz, see tag 3, the whole system works well.

(1) But when we change the refclk of logger board from 25MHz to 24MHz, the logger board fails to work, why?  Given the REFCLK could be 23MHz to 26MHz according to the datasheet.

(2) And how to get it work without changing the REFCLK back to 25MHz on logger board?

Regards,
Yaosheng

  • Hi Yaosheng,

When you said log board fails to work, what issues are you seeing? Lock drop? Parity errors? CSI errors? When you change the ref clock to 24MHz, the CSI output rate will be reduced as well. If set to 1.6G, it will run at 1536Mbps.

Are you currently running this in synchronous or non-synchronous mode?

    Best,

    Jiashow
