TUSB8020BEVM: TUSB8020BEVM

Part Number: TUSB8020BEVM

I need it to show feed from two usb2.0 cameras at once (see split screen from two cameras), but it won't work.

I do mange to switch between the cameras feeds as they're both connected to TUSB8020BEVM (meaning both cameras are recognized by PC).

I use default switch configuration: 10010000 (only SW1 & SW4 are ON), and 5V power is connected. LEDS D5-7 are ON, D1-4 are OFF, all jumpers (J2, J7, J8) are connected.

Why can't I see both feed simultaneously?

How to achieve this?

Thanks,

Elia.

  • Hi Elia,

This sounds like a software issue on the USB host.  The USB hub only routes traffic between the host and the devices, it does not disconnect or disable devices unless told to do so by the host.

  • I thought so too at first. Problem is - when I connect both cameras directly to PC (two different USB ports, without TUSB8020BEVM) it works. Why?

Could it be connected to Switches configuration (port power control)?

  • Hi Elia,

Can you check at the operating system if both cameras are seen by the host simultaneously (Device Manager or usbview for Windows, usbmon for Linux)?

It is possible that the host cannot support two cameras routed through a single port.
