Hi team,

If CANL and CANH are shorted, What kind of protection works?

And then, do you have FMEA for TCAN4550-Q1?
If yes, could you share it?

    Kengo,

    If CANH and CANL are shorted, there is little chance for damage to occur. There are several protection features, CAN bus current limiting being the main one, that will stop any damage from occurring. One of the worse fault conditions is the CAN bus short to battery while driving a dominant signal, and even in this case the current will be limited and dominant timeout will kick in if the dominant time is extended.
