The Receive Pattern Control (RXFPATC) delays pattern detection from the detection of SFD. Does this delay shift the matching point for the Pattern Match Byte registers (RXFPATxx) or does it serve to mask over (RXFPATxx) registers? Also how does the (RXFPATC) register interact with the Receive Pattern Byte Mask Registers (RXFPBMx)?

Hi Kevin,

Apologies for the delay.

1. RXFPATC register delays pattern by shifting the matching point.

2. As for the Pattern Byte Mask Registers: The pattern is 64 bytes long, if you don’t want some of the 64 bytes to match you can mask it by setting corresponding bits. The masked bits will not have to match with the pattern.

Thanks for the response. Just to be clear,

1) If the RXFPATC is set to 63 then the pattern detection for the 64 byte pattern will start at byte 64 of the received packet and continue through byte 127 of the same packet -- right?

and

2) Any bits set in the RXFPBMx registers will be delayed by this same 64 byte delay from the RXFPATC register. In other words if RXFPATC is 63 AND bit 4 of RXFPBM1 is set then byte 67 of the received packet is treated as a don't care -- right?

1. You are correct.

2. If the matching point is shifted to 64 then all previous bytes are automatically not compared/matched. Yes byte mask register also depends on starting point so when starting point is shifted byte mask is shifted too.
