DS90UB929-Q1: Open-drain outputs

Hi there,

For our application, most of the signalling is done at 3.3V levels. Can we pull the INTB (pin 13), REM_INTB (pin 40) and HPD (pin 42) open-drain outputs up to 3.3V directly? The datasheet recommends 1.8V, 1.8V and 5.0V respectively.

Hello Chris,

this is unfortunately not possible. INTB and REM_INTB must be pulled up to VDDIO which is 1.8V.

Please refer to the recommended Voltage levels in the datahseet!

Hi Hamzeh,

Yes, I see that the datasheet values list 1.8V, 1.8V and 5.0V respectively, however my question was if the outputs were true open-drain types that would handle 3.3V without issue. It sounds like this isn't the case?
