TUSB2046B: required XTAL spec

Hi Team,

My customer would like to work with 48MHz clock with the TUSB2046BI.

Can you please elaborate what are the required XTAL spec for the TUSB2046BI ? (Voltage level, jitter, etc..)

If we can recommend a device or two it can be helpful as well.

Hi Nir,

The 48 MHz clock option of the TUSB2046B requires a 3.3V clock source or oscillator, it cannot be done with a crystal.

i would like to know is the hub's clock demand special clock? 3.3V lvcoms will work fine?

what is the clock jitter?

Hi Roei,

The only requirements I have been able to locate indicate a 3.3V signal and frequency stability of 100 ppm.

i would also like to know if im not using power switching on my board

what should i do with OVRCUR1-4 and PWRON1-4 pins? can i leave them floating?

Hi Roei,

The PWRON outputs can be left floating. The OVRCUR inputs are open drain and should be pulled up.
