DS90UB935-Q1: How to select DS90UB935-Q1 clocking modes?

Part Number: DS90UB935-Q1

Hi team,

There are three clocking modes(Synchronous Mode, Non-Synchronous Clock Mode, Non-Synchronous Internal Mode) in DS935. How to select DS90UB935-Q1 clocking modes? what are the advantages and risks of there clocking modes?

Is that correct?

Synchronous Mode: advantage: can save an oscillator for camera; risk: EMI issue?

Non-Synchronous AON Mode: advantage: improve EMI issue; risk: larger jitter?

Non-Synchronous CLK_IN Mode: advantage: improve EMI issue; risk?

THANKS!

  • Hello Terry,

    Clocking mode can be selected through the Mode Pin. please refer to d/s section "7.4.2 MODE".

    Synchronous Mode: advantage: can save an oscillator in cameras, and All imagers in phase from same reference clock;

    risk: EMI issue? EMI is a system performance issue, not a device.

    Non-Synchronous AON Mode: advantage: improve EMI performance, and Wider clock range for CLK_IN and forward channel;

    risk: no risk

    Non-Synchronous CLK_IN Mode: advantage: improve EMI issue;

    risk: Low frequency jitter may affect FC or BC link margin (Low risk) which can be tested and verified in prototype fase
