DS90UH947-Q1: OLDI Error Detection or Action

Part Number: DS90UH947-Q1

Hi Team,

A couple questions regarding the OLDI interface of the 947..

1. Is there any error detection on the OLDI interface? In the datasheet, I see OLDI clock frequency detection, but that is about it..

2. Will the 947 take any action if there is an error on the OLDI interface? Or will it just pass along the bad data? For example, let's say one of the differential signals (i.e. D0) has one of the differential lines stuck at 0, that would probably mess up what is output to the display, but would the 947 take any action like shut down or anything?

Thank you,

Jared

  • Hello Jared,

The following checks are hapenning at the OLDI input:

In reg 0x5A: OLDI CLK detect, OLDI PLL Lock, No OLDI CLK, OLDI Frequency stable.
In reg 0x0C: Valid PCLK detect

The Serializer will not stop forwarding or shot down any thing if one/more data lanes is not okay. It will just pass the bad data.
