Customer found Rin+ burned and want to know why and how hot swap will make the chip damaged？

Does 934 have statement and document for this hot swap?

what do you mean exactly by Hot swap?

How Rin+ was burned? There must be a short circuit to burne the device!!

Hi Hamzeh，

There is cable from 933 to transfer data to 934's Rin ±.

Customer hot swap the connector in Rin ±.

It will damage 934 right? Customer want to have the statement of this how swap.

Hello Amelie,

If they swap Rin+ with Rin-, that will not damage the device.

Hi Hamzeh,

I am sorry for making you misunderstanding.

I mean 934 powered up and is working. And customer unplug the 934 FPD-Link cable connector, which connect 933 Rout to 934 Rin.

This kind of hot swap will damage 934, right?

Hello Amilie,

you mean just unpluging the cable while the SER/DES are in operation? If my understanding is correct, then No, this will not damage the device.

If they replug the cable they will have communication again.
