TPS65987D: VBUS Detect

Hello,

I am trying to have one of my GPIOs (GPIO 20) go high on a VBUS Detect Event. I have set the mapped event to "Port 0 VBUS Detect Event" and the Power Status is source, but when I connect a USBC cable and measure 5V on VBUS, I don't see GPIO 20 go high. Is there something I'm missing?

Hi Michael,

Could you elaborate how you are testing this? Are you doing this in dead-battery mode, how do you have the GPIO connected, etc.

Also is this using the EVM and would you be able to attach your project file and PD logs?

Also, there is an external 3.3V supply present on the 3.3Vin, so we are not in dead battery mode.

Hi Michael,

I will take a look at the project file and schematic and provide you with some feedback next week.

For the VIN_3V3, if you are in dead battery mode, the PD controller will receive power from VBUS, which will turn on the LDO_3V3 to power the internal circuitry instead of VIN_3V3. I would recommend taking a look at the dead battery mode application note for some more detailed info.
