HD3SS3212-Q1: SEL pin usage

Hello team,

I would like to check about the SEL pin on the HD3SS3212-Q1.
In the data sheet circuit example (Figure 13), CC Controller is connected, but I don't need such a function to detect the current supply capability of the host, so I am considering the circuit that detects the voltage on one side of CC pin of Type C connector and controls the voltage on SEL pin.
The schematic is as shown in the internal link, is it OK to use the SEL pin like this?

do you use type-C connector? if yes, how do you know the device attached is DFP of UFP.

Hi Brian-san,

Yes, the customer uses type-C connector.

In the attached circuit , the customer does not need to detect UFP or DFP, because the connected device is fixed and does not need to detect the supply current capability of the host .

The reason why this component is used is that it can use the Type C cable in both directions.
