DP83867IR： Link drop time of DP83867IR 100M

Hi Team,

My customer is using DP83867IR in 100M mode, and want to have fast link down indication when cable is open or issue. Can you pls. help on below questions?

Q1. Do you suggest them to use TDR or FLD feature in DP83867?

Q2. What is the typical response time for TDR when there is a cable open error?

Q3. What is the typical link drop response time of DP83867IR 100M? Is it less than 1ms as below picture shows.

Q4. Customer want to reduce link drop time, but as FLD register shows it seems FLD only available for 1000M.

       Can you help clarify that is FLD feature available for 100M?  Which registers need to be configured and how to configure them for 100M FLD?

    Hi Junjing,

    Per the datasheet it is available in 100 and 1000M as you can see in statement below the drop times for both 100/1000M speeds: 

    The T1 window is set by default to reduce typical link drops to less than 1 ms in 100=M and 0.5 ms in 1000-M mode

    I am looking into these others answers for you, please give me a day to respond and help.
