Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP401
Can TFP401A output in RGB (6,6,6)?
SiI1161 has been discontinued, so I would like to replace it with TFP401A.
Is there a suitable IC to receive HDMI or DVI and output RGB (6,6,6)?
Best regards.

Hi Taro-san,
Yes, you just need to tie the unused outputs to GND. TFP401 can receive HDMI without audio in the stream.

Hi I.K. Anyiam,
Thank you response.
The question and answer do not match.
I'm sorry, but I would like to ask you another question.
In the case of TFP401A, do you switch between RGB (8,8,8) 24-bit output and RGB (6,6,6) 18-bit output by pin terminal setting?
Or is it possible to output 18bit?
Best regards,
The TFP401A does not have any pin settings for RGB888 or RGB666. It will just pass through whatever is provided on its input. In the case of RGB666, this means there will be unused outputs (since the device has enough outputs for RGB888). So you simply need to connect the unused outputs (i.e. the least significant bits) to ground.

I.K.
thank you for your answer.
If I want to use it as an RGB666 output, I use the RGB888 output by dropping each lower 2 bits to the ground.
thank you very much.
Best regards,
T.S.
