Hi,

Good day.

Our customer wants to know if the inputs of TCA9535 can be energized when the part is not powered.

The input pins P00-P17 are the inputs that care about. They may be energized with approximately 5V.

I would appreciate if you could confirm if the TCA9535 would be fine or not. Thank you.

Cedrick,

As long as the voltage levels are within the device limitations defined by the datasheet, the device shouldn't see any damage or loss function on the next power on. Will this be happening mid-application or is this just a validation test that needs to be performed?
