Hi Team

My customer wonders if DP83TD510E-EVM can do BER(Bit Error Rate) test? If yes, could you explain how to do it? Thanks.

And also, the customer wants to separate the waveform of send signal and receive signal, is this possible? If yes, could you explain how to do it? Thanks.

    Hi Hung,

    To enable BER test, perform the following:

    1. Set bit[0] of register 0x119 to 1 to enable PRBS generator
    2. Read bit[7:0] of register 0x11F to read the number of errored bits received. Make sure bit[13] of register 0x11F is set to 1 before reading.

    Refer to the datasheet for a more detailed description of those bits/registers mentioned.

    As for your second question, it is not possible to separate the waveform TX and RX signal since it is a single-pair ethernet PHY.
