TPD2EUSB30: Can this be used for applications besides USB3.x?

Part Number: TPD2EUSB30

I have a customer wanting to use a single ESD device for multiple applications.

Can this device be used in any of the following applications? Are there any extra design concerns...?

- USB3.0
- DP
- LVDS
- Ethernet

  • Hello Darren,

Yes this device should be able to provide protection for all of these applications. I don't believe any of the interfaces listed goes above 5.5 V, and the capacitance is low enough to where it can support all of the signal speeds (up to 7.4 Gbps). However, for the lower voltage interfaces like LVDS, which has a working voltage of around 1.25 V, you could use a device with a lower Vrwm like TPD1E01B04. This would allow you to get better protection.

Let me know if you need anymore clarification.
