Hi,

I am using TPS65988 based design. Can I use it as a standalone without Master I2C?

Hi Baghiya,

Yes you may, it's not necessary to have a Master I2C connected to the TPS65988DJ. However, if you are planning to use it for certain applications like TBT, then you may need to implement a Host.

Also, if you don't have a Master I2C or a Host, typically we recommend having a Flash on board though so that you may program the PD controller to your desired configurations.
