DS90UB960-Q1: Problem getting DS90UB960 CSI pattern generator to work

I am trying to get the pattern generator to work with the 960 part. I have set the registers as shown in the datasheet, but can seems to get anything working when I test with my FPGA board. It could be some other issue and not the 960, but I would like to know if there is any registers I can check. The CSI0 registers starting at addr 0x90 are all 0 which seems to indicate that nothing is being sent out. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi Jon,

Those registers that you are indicating (starting at 0x90) are not valid when using patgen from the 960. You will need to send received video data over the link to see those CSI counter registers incrementing. My suggestion to just check if data is coming out is to probe the CSI lines on the 960. Your FPGA may not be programmed correctly to receive packets.

Thanks for confirming those registers. Can you also confirm that I can use 2 lanes with the pattern generator?

Hi Jon,

yes, you can use 2 lanes. make sure you program the DES for 2 lane operation and not to exceed the bandwidth per lane.

It was an issue on the board. The 960 is working fine. Thanks for the help.
