TPS25750EVM: For no battery application

Hi Team,

I believe TPS25750EVM is designed for battery application because BQ25731 (battery charger) is mounted.

On the other hand, my customer is planning to design USB PD source (60W) application but it isn't battery application, 24V DC is supplied to their board.
Should we suggest TPS65987EVM instead of TPS25750EVM in this case?

Yaita,

The TPS25750D will work as a source option with integrated switch.

This is the device that I would recommend for this application.

Regarding TPS65987EVM, LM3489 is mounted for variable DCDC.
Do you recommend the same device with TPS25750 for variable DCDC?

I can't make up my mind which EVM to suggest for their application.

Yaita-san,

After doing some further research, the TPS65987 is the better option for a source only application. It is able to configure the DC-DC converter to support 5V, 9V, 15V, and 20V by controlling external fet switches to set the output voltage and provides all of the required type-C control to be a source.

The EVM has an example DC-DC, but almost and DC-DC converter that meets the power and voltage requirements that supports external feedback resistors can be used.
