DS90UB914A-Q1: questions about ds90ub914-q1

Part Number: DS90UB914A-Q1

Hi team,

there are some questions from customer about DS90UB914:

1. whether UB914 can be replaced by UB934 without any change on hardware and software? it seems pin 34 is different.

2. whether UB914 have link error count threshold register like Reg.0x41 for UB948? and what about UB934? if yes, what's the address?

3. if setting link error count to 0xF, if there is some link errors(didn't exceed the link error threshold), deserializer will keep forward signal to the display panel? if not,  what will deserializer do in this situation?

thanks!

  • Hello Terry,

    1) You are correct. The devices are not pin-to-pin compatible.

    2) The 914 - reg 0x18 and 0x19. The 934 - reg 0x05 and 0x06.

    3) If the number exceeds the threshold, you will get alert or Interrupt but the device will keep working further.

  • Hi Hamzeh,

    thanks for your feedback.

    1. What I mean is the link error count register, like 0xB9 in UB954. Is there similar register in UB914 and UB934? and what are the address?

    2. what status will UB914 AND UB934 monitor for LOCK pin output? for example, UB954 will monitor parity, clock and control.

    3. what are the specific checking will it do for FPD Link clock and control monitor? does this mean it will monitor FPDLINK signal clock jitter and something else?

    thanks!

  • Hello Terry,

In the 934 it has the same register address as the 954.

The 914A does not have such a register.
