TPS65988EVM: TPS6598x Application Customization Tool flashing mismatch

Hi,

I am flashing the external memory on the TPS65988EVM with the Application Customisation Tool v6.1.1 and I am seeing different results when using the 'Flash from binary file' and the 'Flash from current project' options. My scenario is this one:

1. Start a project
2. Save full binary 0x2000, 0x9000 as 'full.bin'
3. Flash from Project. Read binary
4. Flash from 'full.bin'. Read binary

The binaries from step 3 and 4 have differences around the region header area of both regions. Could you explain why this is the case?

Alex,

When Flashing from Project, are you setting the offsets to the same values (0x2000 & 0x9000) as the Full Flash binary?

If so, please upload both binaries to this ticket and I can investigate the differences.

Alex,

Thanks for the upload. The difference between the two binaries is purely where the app config and patch are located within the binary. There is a bug in the tool that is putting them at different offsets, but both are equally valid and the overall size of the binary is unchanged in both.

I will fix this bug in the next release of the tool so that they properly match, but in the meantime there should be no impact on the functionality of the tool.
