Hello,

it seems as if we have to use the XIO2001 in its NFBGA package (ZAJ, 0.5mm pitch).

Do you have a document with layout / breakout hints for this package?

I wonder if this package is still usable for industrial pcb designs with min. 100um trace width and 0.2mm via drill.

Hello Nasser,

thanks for the nFBGA Application Report.

From my understanding, Chapter 2 "PCB Design Considerations" shows that it is NOT possible to use a 0.5mm pitch nFBGA package with standard industrial PCB design technics (min. 0.1mm trace width and spacing, min. 0.2mm via drill). Instead, Microvias are needed when using 0.5mm pitch nFBGA.

Hi Niels,

Given 0.5mm pitch and high number of solder balls, using microvia enables signal routing under the device. Perhaps using 0.8mm pitch could provide more flexibility in pcb routing/manufacturing.
