Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65981,
Hello Team,
We want to use this TUSB1044 via I2C mode with PD controller (TPS65981) for USB-C. My question is, have to be connect additionally the HPDIN and SLP_S0# pin to the PD controller GPIO, or not necessary? It is enough only the I2C lines between the redriver and the PD controller or not? According to the datasheet we need to connect HPDIN and SLP_S0# when we use TUSB1044 in I2C mode:
The PD controller is able to overrides the HPD via I2C register, so I think HPDIN is not necessary. Could you please confirm it?
About the SLP_S0# my question: is this pin responsible only the RX detection disable and reduce power consumption? But If the PD controller send sleep command to the redriver via I2C (CTLSEL1 = L; CTLSEL0 = L) and pull down the SDA line to ground, I think the redriver goes to low power mode and this SLP_S0# not necessary at this time. So is the SLP_S0# pin is only help power reduction if the redriver is working with U2 or U3 mode? But I didn't found in the datasheet what percent of power can we save if we use the SLP_S0#p pin.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
Best Regards,
David
