DS90UB914A-Q1: Bad Link with short Coax Cable and POC

Part Number: DS90UB914A-Q1

Hello everyone,

we use the fpd iii link to transfer image sensor data via coax cable. Power over Coax is also used according to the application notes to be found here.
The transmission is very stable with cables from 1m in length. As the cables become shorter, the error rate increases. Up to a complete loss of the lock and many errors at a cable length of 0.2m.
If we insert a small series resistance (3 ohms) at the output of the serializer in front of the coupling capacitor, the connection becomes stable again.
Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior?

Thanx
Marco
