Hi Team,

Good day, we received query from customer and want to confirm regarding SN65DPHY440SS. For me to now miss any questions, Ill copy the query below.

"

1. Device includes MIPI. SN65DPHY440SS can be repeater here.

The questions are:

Due the device powered from battery only we need to keep it disconnected. We going to provide power down by high side power switch. Can you propose another way to provide power down functionality? Is reset is power down also?

2. We need just single direction to move data. I means, from CMOS camera to processor board.

Do we really need SN65DPHY440SS? possible, we may implement some driver only? the problem is additional card between CMOS image sensor to the processor. I means, additional 2 connectors. I can't use direct cable from point to point

    1. Please refer to section 6.5 of the DPHY440 datasheet. When holding RSTN low, the DPHY440 is placed into the lowest power state which consumes 0.75mW of power.

    2. The DPHY440 compensates for PCB, connector, and cable related frequency loss and switching related loss to provide the optimum electrical performance from a CSI2/DSI source to sink. So is the total loss in their system exceed the CMOS camera TX and process RX capability? If yes, then they need the DPHY440 to compensate for the extra loss.
