TPS65983B: TPS65983B certification issue in PD 2.0/3.0/TR

Hi all,

Is there any new FW for TPS65983B to pass GRL certification in all PD 2.0/3.0 test items? Customers are still waiting new FW for their products. Or can TI provide waived items list / / letter so customer can ask test LAB to skip those items to pass certification? Thanks for your kindly help.

What FW are you waiting for specifically? Which GRL certification tests are you worried the current firmware will not pass?

Hi Emma,

Please check below link and other posts in E2E. Many customers at our side meet same issue in FW v4.65 or older version. If TI don't want to upgrade FW in 983B and hope customers to discuss with Intel directly to waive items can't pass PD certification in lab, can you provide a list and customer can use it to ask lab to skip those test for TBT certification?

Hi Gary,

If you are going for thunderbolt certification, you will need to have results from every GRL test. We cannot provide a list of tests because results depend on the device under test and also test results are only valid for the specific device tested. Should you face any failures, please either check past E2E threads or post a new inquiry, and we can help interpret results.
