DP83822IF: How to configure straps and registers if not using SD signal?

As you mentioned, TI recommends enabling the SD feature. What is meant by monitoring RD signal? Which pin/signal will be monitored?

Our SD signal is CMOS input although the fiber transceiver my customer wants to use has LVPECL output for SD signal.
It's not easy to connect to it.
Then they think DP83822IF should have something function that can check the link status by maybe monitoring RD signals etc.

Doesn't DP83822IF have such a function?

I understand monitoring SD signal is not desirable. Can you clarify what is meant by RD signal? Which pin/signal would you like to monitor instead?

RD signal means RD_M/RD_P signals. Doesn't this device have any function to detect link status without SD ?
