Hi team,
Customer is using SN65HVD1781-Q1 in a DVR application, they wants to know how to determine the max supported node numbers in a RS485 BUS?
Their BUS will frequently report fault and unstable if the node number larger than 5.
Thanks.

See RS-485 basics: how to calculate unit loads and the maximum number of nodes on your network.
But with six nodes, the problem is probably not lack of drive strength, but wrong termination, stub length, node spacing, or grounding. Please provide information about those aspects. (See The RS-485 Design Guide, and the application nodes referenced by it.)
Thanks for the help Clemens!
Fery,
The link Clemens provided is a great reference for this question. Please let us know if there's anything else we can explain.
