Hello TI Forum,

I would like to check with you on following statements in the data sheets:

in the TCAN45xx software user’s guide stands: in a case, that the RX buffer is filled, the “original” data will be discarded => which I understand as the old data in the buffer is lost, new data is stored in the RX buffer
in the M_CAN Specification from BOSCH (Rev 3.3.0)(assumed, it is applicable on the TCAN4551) stands: As long as the respective NDAT (New Data Flag) is set, the RX buffer is locked against updates.

Please see the attached screenshots beneath.

Could you please check on this discrepancy?

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I would follow the M_CAN Specification for the RX Buffer behavior because no modifications were made when it was implemented into the TCAN4550 that would cause a difference.

I will verify and get the Software User's Guide document updated with the correct description in the near future.
