TUSB3410: Can TUSB3410 be used for I2C to USB conversion?

Part Number: TUSB3410

Hi,

I am looking for an I2C to USB bridge as I have a touch panel that has an I2C interface and need to connect it to my PC through USB.

I saw some other post that said this could be used for USB to I2C conversion, but was not confirmed to be bidirectional. Also it was not very clear to me in the datasheet as the only examples given were USB to RS232/UART, and it looks like the I2C port is used to connect to the EEPROM only to load the configuration.

Can you confirm if this can be done and point me to where I need to look to get this set up?

Thanks,

Jose

  • Hi Jose,

We have collateral for this application. I believe TUSB3410 can fit here since you are creating a USB device that connects to a PC. In other words TUSB3410 USB port can only act as a upstream port of USB device. TUSB3401 can communicate through I2C via USB HID call form the PC, there will need to be some software development on your side. Please accept my friend request and I can send you the appropriate documents.
