DP83TC811R-Q1: 100Base-T1 cable lengths

Part Number: DP83TC811R-Q1

A customer uses 100Base-T1 cable lengths of up to 40 m.
If I have read up on the subject correctly, the standard only allows this with 1000Base-T1 in conjunction with a shielded cable. Do you have any experience with 100Base-T1 and longer cables? If not, what is the experience with 1000Base-T1 and what would be the right phy for this use case?

Thanks

Fred

  • Hi Fred,

For your first question, we do not have any experience with 100Base-T1 cable length longer than the standard 15 m. For your second question, can you elaborate on the conditions more? What length is the 1000Base-T1 cable? Would it be shielded or unshielded?

Also, for what application does the customer require 100Base-T1 cable length of up to 40 m? Feel free to send me an email if you cannot discuss these things on here.

    Regards,
