DP83867IR: About pulse transformer

Hi Team.

We are considering downsizing the pulse transformer.Please give me two points of advice.

①320uH-350uH is recommended for the DP83867IR data sheet, but 180uH for TDK's ALT4532P-181-T05G, please advise if there is any problem.

②The common mode coil part is different from a regular pulse transformer, is there any problem?Please refer to the attached drawing.

To answer your questions:

The recommended specs are there because we know they work with the device. Using a transformer that is out of spec may cause problems.
Can you repost the image? I cannot see the image on the thread.

Hello,

Since a transformer is recommended for the DP83867, there could be issues if you use something else, such as a common mode coil. If you wish to use a common mode coil, I can recommend the DP83869. The DP83869 has been tested with capacitive coupling, so using a common mode coil should be fine as well.

When changing from DP83867 to DP83869, is the scale of software change large?

For short-term development, I would like to use DP83867 as it is if possible.

Is the DRIVERS / RECEIVERS part inside the IC the same as the DP83869, only the DP83867 has not been subjected to the capacitive coupling test?

Hello,

The scale of the software change should not be large. Both DP83867 and DP83869 drivers are available on TI.com.

The DP83869 is similar to the DP83867. The DP83869 has shown better performance with capacitive coupling, which is why i recommended the DP83869.
