DP83848-EP: DP83848NRTAR pin19, pin 30, pin 16 connection

Part Number: DP83848-EP

Hello Sir,

One of my customers is designing a board with using DP83848NRTAR. The customer wants to check:

1. if the PIN19 (PFBOUT) only connects to PIN30 (PFBIN2) and doesn't connect to PIN16 PFBIN1. Is it OK?

2. In datasheet, PIN 8, 9, 10 is floating and the customer pulls up them to 3.3V. Is it Ok?

May I send the customer's schematic to you for checking?

Best regards,

wenting

  • Hi Wenting,

    To answer your questions:

    1. Since the datasheet specifically mentions connecting to PFBIN1 as well, I would suggest doing so to avoid any issues.
    2. For those pins, pulling them up to 3.3V should be fine.

You can email me the customer's schematic, and I can take a look at it.

    Regards,

    Adrian Kam

  • Hi Wenting,

Please review the power feedback circuit section in the datasheet for the requirements on the design. You wll need to connect these pins together.

As for schematic review you may review the design guide for the DP83848 found here to go over the major schematic review points: www.ti.com/.../snla079d.pdf
