Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDP158
Hi team,
My customer has new requirement below 6inch, 2.5db@3G insertion loss HDMI2.0 from CPU to connector, Whether we need the retimer here or we can use a repeater? Do you have suggested devices? Thanks.

Hi,
For DC-coupled HDMI, you can use the TMDS181. For AC-coupled HDMI, you can use the DP159. Both the TMDS181 and the DP159 can be configured in retimer or redriver mode.
Thanks
David
Hi,
The TDP158 has sufficient equalizer to compensate for the 6inch, 2.5db@3G insertion loss. Keep in mind that the TDP158 does not have an adaptor ID as the DP159, so the CPU has to ignore the adaptor ID read and force into HDMI1.4 and 2.0.
Thanks
David
