SN65MLVD207: SN65MLVD207 compatibility with LVDS

I am wondering if there is compatibility of the SN65MLVD207 with LVDS and if not, are there any suggested solutions to providing such a conversion? I currently have a test adapter that uses this transceiver to communicate with devices and am looking to see if there an external solution to adapt/convert it to communicate with an LVDS device.

Hi Jimmy,

You can use the SN65MLVD207 directly with LVDS receivers as the output voltage swing and common mode voltage are compatible with LVDS specs.

Are you certain given that the SN65MLVD207 is MLVDS type 2 and that this won't cause issues with undefined regions?:

Hi Jimmy,

Yes it could cause issues in the undefined regions, But if your LVDS device output swing is the typical +/-350 mV swing then it shouldn't be a problem. If this is still concerning though you can just switch to regular LVDS transceiver like the SN65LVDS180.
