DS90UB949-Q1: GPIO communication on Port1 single link situation

Hi team,

My customer want to communicate on GPIO0 from UB928 which is connected to Port1 of UB949(backchannel GPIO) but not going well.

I also check it on my EVM and, I was able to communicate both direction if I connect UB928 to Port0 but I wasn't able to communicate both direction if I connect to Port1.

I only set GPIO0 config register of both Ser and Des. What additional setting is required when I use GPIO on Port1?

UB949: 0x0D[7:0]=0x1F

UB928: 0x1D[7:0]=0x23

Please advice.

Hi Atsushi-san,

I'm sorry that you encountered this issue. Yes you should able to read the register content via PORT1 described in section 7.3.10 FPD-Link III Port Register Access of 949 datasheet. In order to read the register via PORT1, you need to configure the register 0x1E.

I tried setting PORT1_SEL before GPIO setting but the GPIO communication on port1 single link was not going well...

Could you test it in your side too?

UB949: 0x1E[7:0]=0x04 or 0x06 then, 0x0D[7:0]=0x17

UB928: 0x1D[7:0]=0x23
