Hello,

I designed a pcb that is essentially equivalent to the reference design. I am having an issue with the EEPROM.

I can load the default firmware into the device without an issue and all works as expected until I unplug the device and plug it back in. Once I do this, it comes up as if it is the first time it is being powered and I see the bootloader again.

If the code isn’t being stored to EEPROM by would the device function as defined above? I am trying to determine if the firmware is getting written and then erased or never written at all.

Any suggestions?

Hi Brian,

I am using the microchip 25LC1024 EEPROM.

I did some more testing today and confirmed it is an issue with that particular EEPROM chip.

I transplanted the EEPROM off the development board and dropped it onto my board and it works perfectly. I am now able to load the latest firmware and it persists through power cycles.

Unfortunately, the EEPROM that is used on the development board is EOL and so is all the other EEPROMS that TI has confirmed it working with.

I am not sure why the microchip EEPROM doesn’t work.

Can anyone confirm an EEPROM that works and is not EOL?
