DS90UB953A-Q1: MIPI CSI -2 Termination

We are developing an ADAS camera Board for which DS90UB953A-Q1 is used for serializer.

Our transmitter device is Xilinx Zync MPSoc XAZU7EV and we have MIPI IP inside FPGA and our receiver device is DS90UB953A-Q1.

My question is do we need to provide 100E Parallel termination for MIPI CSI inputs.

As nothing is mentioned in datasheet about the termination

Hi, this is not needed, 953a's CSI2 port has internal matching impedance. you can refer to the evm design or refer to 953 evm design.

But you datasheet mentions as CSI-2 inputs needs to be Dc-coupled

If we have internally then how do we enable them. Can you please share the ref for the same in datasheet.

Hi,

953A has internal CSI2 impedance as shown in page9 of d/s (https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ds90ub953a-q1.pdf?ts=1608877301919&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fproduct%252FDS90UB953A-Q1)

for the csi2 i/f design, you can use the DC coupling.

Sorry I am confused. You ask me to refer the datasheet and it has internal Impedance as shown in page 9

And you have mentioned too that i need to use external parallel termination (Dc Coupling)..

Please clarify do i need to add a external termination..

Shankar,

the DC coulping means you just need connect the dphy transmitter to dphy receiver directly. for our 953 used as dphy receiver, it has internal diff. impedance when it works at HS mode. so you don't need external 100ohms diff. impedance for this dc coupling link.
