TUSB3410 for USB-RS232, issues with accessing port

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB3410

Hi,

We have an implementation of the TUSB3410 as an USB-RS232 converter.
The goal is to use it for RS232 barcode scanning. (e.g. serial keboard input rescieved by a wedge software)
This is not working!

Under WinXP we can use the port via Hyper terminal, both to send and recieve.
Also we can se WinXP Accessability option to utilize seriel key input and this works as well.
When we try  to access the port  through a numeral af wedge software we get Data Receive Error (error code 8020)

The same issue occurs when we use the 232Analyzer software.

When using other off the shelf products (dongles) based on FTDI all works fine.

Help

  • Hello Patrik,

We are trying to reproduce the issue using a TUSB3410 EVM, but I need more information about the issue scenario. Could you please send us the following information?

    1.       Operating system flavor, 32, 64 bits

    2.       Driver version.

    3.       Are you using the standard Firmware (included in the driver package) or you are using a custom Firmware?

    4.       The reproduction steps in order to reproduce the issue at our end

Also I want to know if you can reproduce the issue using our TUSB3410 EVM, if you only can see the issue using your RS232 implementation, could you please send us the schematic to perform a review.

    Best regards,

    Roberto.
