DP83869HM: DP83869 1000 Mbps media converter ...

Part Number: DP83869HM

Hello..

I have DP83869HM media converter custom Board . In that board i don't have any MSP430 Controller . I want use the 1000 mbps media converter interface for this i made the strap pins propper. I want to know how to write the  0x1EC register .

1. The MDC & MDIO pins are connected to FPGA . I want know how to write into registers to make work the 1000 Mbps media converter. Because the MDIO has 32-bit lengh how should i wrote the 0x1EC rgister address because i need to write the PHY address and register address and register data in this 32-bit data.

Please let me know how to access ?

  • Hi Omkar,

Section 9.4.9 in the datasheet discusses the Serial Management Interface, and how to communicate via MDC/MDIO. Figure 29 shows an example of the Typical MDC/MDIO Write Operation, how each bit of the MDIO 32-bit sequence is allocated. Section 9.4.9.1 in the datasheet describes how to access extended registers and includes examples.

Please let me know if you have any further questions. Else, I will close this thread.

    Thank you,

    Nikhil
