PCA9306: What is the maximum data rate supported by PCA9306

Hi team,

As titled, what is the maximum data rate PCA9306 could support? Is it OK to use it for fast mode plus >1MHz I2C cumminication?

Any specific items need to be noticed in the design?

    The PCA9306 is identical with the LSF0102.

    The speed of the rising signal edges is limited by the low-pass filter formed by the pull-up resistors and the parasitic capacitances of your circuit. Higher speeds require stronger pull-up resistors, which require that your I²C devices have higher drive strength.

    1 MHz is not that fast, and should be achievable with moderate pull-up resistors. I cannot predict what capacitances the board will have; I'd check the I²C waveforms resulting from different pullups with an oscilloscope.

    As your comment, PCA9306 is identical with LSF0102,  why they are two categories in TI' web site, one in Interface and one in logic/

    Apparently, TI assumes that there are engineers that assume that all I²C devices are named PCAxxx or TCAxxx.
