DS90UB948-Q1: BIST Configuration

Hi experts,

948 datasheet stats that "Before BIST can be enabled, D_GPIO0 (pin 19) must be strapped HIGH and D_GPIO[3:1] (pins 16, 17,and 18) must be strapped LOW". So if customer want to use BIST function, they need to add pull-up resistor at D_GPIO0 pin and pull-down resistors at D_GPIO[3:1] pins in schematic design? Why the BIST function is related to D_GPIO configuration? Thank you.

Hi Arie,

Yes, they would need to follow the datasheet to pull up D_gpio0 and pull down D_GPIO[3:1] if they are not low already.

These are used to put 948 into correct mode to run BIST.

Hi Charley,

To enable the BIST function, can customer use MCU to control the D_GPIO[3:0]? Or external pull-up/down resistors must be added at these pins? Thank you.

Hi Arie,

They could but they need to make sure the 948 is powered down when MCU controls the D_GPIO and power up or release PDB after D_GPIO0 is high.
